The future looks bright for the New York Rangers after an impressive showing at rookie camp this weekend. Their young talent put on quite a show in back-to-back games against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Two players really stole the spotlight. Brennan Othmann and Scott Morrow, both 22, absolutely lit it up on the scoresheet.
Othmann racked up four points across the two games, scoring once and setting up three goals. But it wasn’t just about the numbers – he showed real playmaking skill that had fans buzzing.
Morrow was even more impressive, tallying five points from the blue line. His power-play goal kicked off the scoring in Saturday’s 5-2 win, showing exactly why the Rangers are so high on his offensive potential.
The Rangers split the series with the Flyers, dropping Friday’s opener 4-3 before bouncing back with that convincing win on Saturday.
They got solid contributions from their other prospects too:
• Noah Laba: 1 goal, 1 assist
• Jaroslav Chmelar: 1 goal, 1 assist
• Dylan Roobroeck: 1 goal, 1 assist
• Jackson Dorrington: 1 goal
• Raoul Boilard: 1 goal
The depth scoring continued with Evan Passmore, Artyom Gonchar, and Bryce McConnell-Barker each picking up an assist.
The real test begins September 21st when main camp opens against the New Jersey Devils. The Rangers will then face the Boston Bruins before wrapping up their September schedule with a home-and-home against their crosstown rivals, the New York Islanders.
