The Carolina Hurricanes are making moves to strengthen their forward lineup.
Several players left the team recently, so they are signing Jack Roslovic. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman shared this news, but the deal’s financial details aren’t out yet. Roslovic, from Columbus, OH, was picked 25th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft by the Winnipeg Jets. He played one year at Miami University (Ohio) before going pro in the 2016-17 season. As a rookie with the Manitoba Moose in AHL, he scored 13 goals and made 48 points in 65 games.
Roslovic soon joined the Jets full-time during the 2017-18 season after another strong start in AHL. Over his time with Winnipeg, he netted 26 goals and earned 67 points across 180 games while playing a middle-six role. Then came a trade to his hometown team, Columbus Blue Jackets, as part of a deal involving Pierre-Luc Dubois. In Columbus, Roslovic found his stride on the second line with career-best stats: scoring 51 goals and racking up 146 points over three and a half seasons (206 games). However, despite his efforts, Columbus missed out on playoffs each year and traded him to New York Rangers for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2026.
Jack Roslovic’s Impact on Playoffs
For fans of hockey everywhere, seeing how players perform under pressure is thrilling! Returning to Stanley Cup playoffs after four years must have been exciting for Roslovic. With an average ice time of about 13:51 over sixteen games during New York’s playoff run to Eastern Conference Finals, he contributed two goals and eight points.
Given Carolina’s recent loss of key players over past days, Roslovic is expected to fit well into their middle-six forwards based on this reported contract.
