The Devils have brought Nathan Bastian back to the team after a long injury break. They also made some roster changes by sending Nathan Legare to AHL Utica.
Bastian got hurt on November 1st during a fight and had to sit out for over a month. Now, he’s ready to play again, joining Justin Dowling and Tomáš Tatar on the fourth line against the Maple Leafs. Before his injury, Bastian scored two goals and three assists in 12 games.
The Devils are juggling their salary cap, moving Curtis Lazar’s contract around to stay within limits. Fans might wonder if these moves will help or hurt the team’s performance.
Roster Changes and Player Movements:
Bastian was originally picked by the Devils in 2016 but briefly joined Seattle before returning. He’s playing under a $2.7 million contract that ends next summer when he’ll be a free agent.
As for Legare, he heads back to Utica after his first NHL games this month. He didn’t score any points but showed promise with hits and blocks. Originally drafted by the Penguins in 2019, he’s already been part of three different teams due to trades last season.
