The Winnipeg Jets have signed Cole Perfetti to a two-year bridge deal.
Perfetti, a restricted free agent forward, will earn $3M in the first year and $3.5M in the second year, averaging $3.2M annually. In 2026, he will be a restricted free agent again and needs a $3.5M qualifying offer for the Jets to keep him. The big question this summer was whether they would go for a long-term deal or not.
Last season, Perfetti scored 19 goals and made 19 assists over 71 games but struggled after a strong start. His stats were his best yet in his three-year NHL career, but there’s room for improvement .
Season Performance and Future Prospects:
Perfetti only played an average of 13:35 minutes per game last season. If he gets more top-six minutes this year, fans might see better offensive numbers from him. He had an inconsistent 2023-24 season; scratched from games 11 times and playing just under 11 minutes total in the playoffs.
He’s known for his playmaking skills and hockey sense but has issues with skating speed which affects his ability to create space when he has the puck.
Fans might think this deal is smart because it gives both sides time to see if Perfetti can reach his full potential.
