Utah NHL Franchise Receives Over 20,000 Season Ticket Deposits

The Arizona Coyotes are moving to Salt Lake City, generating excitement with over 20,000 season ticket deposits, and while the new NHL franchise, planning to play in the renovated Delta Center with a capacity of 17,000, doesn’t yet have a name, trademark applications suggest potential names like Utah Blizzard, Utah Fury, Utah HC, Utah Venom, and Utah Hockey Club.

Excitement’s buzzing around the Arizona Coyotes’ move to Salt Lake City. Just days into the announcement, the new team owner, Ryan Smith, dropped some big news.

Over 20,000 season ticket deposits have been made. Each costing a cool $100. Smith, who also owns the Utah Jazz, has given Jazz season ticket holders first dibs on the NHL action.

The yet-to-be-named team will call the Delta Center home. Right now, it fits 12,000 hockey fans. But Smith’s got plans. Big plans. To bump that up to 17,000.

And about the name? It’ll start with Utah, not Salt Lake City. Keeping it in line with the Jazz. They’ve even got Doubleday & Cartwright on board to brainstorm the perfect name and logo.

Last week, some interesting trademark applications popped up. Names like Utah Blizzard and Utah Fury. Could be the team’s doing, or maybe not. Who knows?
