Sharks Move Will Smith to IR, Activate Barclay Goodrow

Will Smith, a young player for the Sharks, was put on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. Barclay Goodrow will take his place and play against the Hurricanes after missing some games because of his own injury. Smith got hurt during a game against the Lightning and might be back for Saturday’s match with Utah.

Smith’s season has been full of ups and downs. At first, he didn’t score any points in eight games, but then he racked up 11 points in 16 matches. He’s been switching between center and right wing positions and sometimes plays with Macklin Celebrini. While not dominating as a rookie, he’s shown promise with over three shots per game and helping the team control puck possession better when he’s on the ice.

Sharks’ Lineup Changes:

The Sharks are glad to have Goodrow back as they face off against the Hurricanes after tough losses in Florida where they were outscored 11-2. Goodrow hasn’t scored much this season—only two goals—but he’s strong defensively. He leads in takeaways among forwards and is part of their main penalty-killing group.

Goodrow will join Luke Kunin and Alexander Wennberg on the third line. There’s also a chance Nikolai Kovalenko could debut if Klim Kostin can’t play due to an injury from practice .

Fans might wonder if these changes will help turn things around for the Sharks.

Rookie Kovalenko was recently picked up from the Avalanche, so everyone is curious to see how he’ll fit into this new lineup if given a chance.

What do you think about all these changes? Do you think they’ll help or not?
