Sharks Legend’s Message on Jersey Retirement

Joe Thornton is currently at the San Jose Sharks development camp.

Even though it looks like Joe might still play, he has already announced his retirement. Now, he’s inviting fans to join him for a special celebration. On Wednesday, Joe shared on social media that Team Teal will honor him by raising his No. 19 jersey into the SAP Center rafters.

Thornton said in a video from the Sharks practice facility, “November 23. Looking forward to seeing everybody.”

The bearded hockey star isn’t usually active on social media, so this announcement surprised many fans. He wants everyone in the Bay Area to come and celebrate with him as they lift his jersey number high above the ice .
