Sergei Bobrovsky was absolutely perfect Thursday night, leading the Florida Panthers to a nail-biting 1-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
The 37-year-old goalie stopped all 31 shots that came his way, earning his second shutout of the season.
It was the kind of performance Panthers fans have come to expect from their star netminder, who’s been crucial to the team’s back-to-back Stanley Cup championships.
The Devils came into the game as one of the Eastern Conference’s hottest teams. But they just couldn’t solve Bobrovsky, who seemed to have an answer for everything they threw at him.
This wasn’t just any ordinary shutout. It marked the 51st of Bobrovsky’s impressive NHL career, adding another milestone to his already stellar resume.
The Russian veteran hasn’t lost a step since his last shutout – a 3-0 win against the Vegas Golden Knights back on October 25th.
For Bobrovsky, it was win number 10 on the season. But more than that, it was another reminder of why the Panthers have become such a force in the NHL with him guarding their net.
