NHL Releases 2025-26 Schedule: Top Games to Watch

The NHL’s massive 2025-26 schedule is finally here, and it’s packed with can’t-miss matchups that’ll have fans marking their calendars.

While we got a sneak peek at opening night’s triple-header earlier this month, now we can see all 1,309 remaining games of what’ll be the league’s final 82-game season before expanding to 84 games the following year.

Canadian hockey fans are in for a treat on October 8, 2025. The Montreal Canadiens, fresh off their blockbuster trade for Noah Dobson, head to Toronto to face a Maple Leafs team still finding their identity without Mitch Marner. That same night, the Battle of Alberta heats up as Dustin Wolf leads his Calgary Flames into Edmonton to face the Oilers, who are still nursing their Stanley Cup Finals wounds.

Mark your calendars for October 28 – it’s going to be hockey heaven. The NHL is running all 32 teams in one night, with games perfectly staggered from 6 p.m. EST until the early morning hours. Keep an eye on J.T. Miller’s first game back in Vancouver, now wearing Rangers blue.

The Stanley Cup Finals rematch everyone’s waiting for happens November 22, when Edmonton travels to Florida to face the Panthers who’ve had their number. Earlier that day, two teams desperate to break their playoff droughts – the Red Wings and Blue Jackets – face off in Detroit at 1 p.m. EST.

That same Saturday night, Toronto and Montreal renew their historic rivalry at the Bell Centre. It’s always electric when these Original Six teams meet.

December 15 brings some serious drama to Madison Square Garden. Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba return to face their old team for the first time since that shocking leaked memo from Rangers GM Chris Drury put them on the trade block – despite the team’s hot 12-4-1 start last season.

Down in Florida that night, Tampa Bay hosts their state rivals in what’s sure to be a heated rematch of last year’s playoff upset.
