NHL Players Who Can Join Triple Gold Club at 2026 Olympics

NHL stars are getting a rare shot at joining one of hockey’s most exclusive clubs, thanks to their return to Olympic competition.

We’re talking about the Triple Gold Club – players who’ve won an Olympic gold medal, a World Championship, and the Stanley Cup. It’s pretty incredible that only 31 players have ever pulled this off.

The club started back in 1994 when three Swedish players – Mats Naslund, Hakan Loob and Tomas Jonsson – became the first members. The newest addition? Finland’s Valtteri Filppula, who made it in after winning gold at the 2022 Olympics.

Only one coach has ever managed this feat – Mike Babcock did it when he led Canada to gold at the 2010 Vancouver Games.

Right now, 13 players from four countries have a chance to join this elite group. They’ve already got two of the three prizes – they just need that Olympic gold to make history.

Brad Marchand might be the most interesting case. At 37, the feisty Canadian forward has won Stanley Cups with both Boston (2011) and Florida (2025). He’s having an amazing comeback season, on track for 78 points after managing just 51 last year.

Nathan MacKinnon is absolutely tearing up the NHL right now. He’s already got 40 goals and 93 points in just 55 games this season. The Colorado star won his Cup in 2022, and he’s got that World Championship gold from 2015.

Sam Reinhart’s been collecting medals like they’re hockey cards. He’s won gold at pretty much every level, including the World Championships in 2016. Those back-to-back Cups with Florida in 2024 and 2025 weren’t too shabby either.

Mark Stone might not be the fastest skater out there, but he’s got hardware. The Vegas captain lifted the Stanley Cup in 2023 and has both gold and silver from World Championships.

The Czech Republic has three solid chances with Michal Kempný, Ondřej Palát, and Jan Rutta. All three were part of that emotional 2024 World Championship victory on home ice.

Finland’s hoping Eetu Luostarinen and Niko Mikkola can follow in Filppula’s footsteps. Both were part of that shocking 2019 World Championship team that beat Canada without any NHL players.

Sweden’s bringing the big guns with Victor Hedman and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. And don’t forget about Gabriel Landeskog – he’s back after missing nearly 1,000 days with a knee injury and will captain the Swedish team.

It’s going to be fascinating to see who, if anyone, joins this exclusive club. For some of these guys, especially the older ones, this might be their last shot at Olympic glory.
