Mikko Rantanen didn’t waste any time showing Hurricanes fans what he’s all about.
The star forward lit the lamp in his PNC Arena debut, scoring his first goal in Carolina’s red and black just days after being traded from Colorado.
It wasn’t just any ordinary goal, either. Early in the second period, teammate Jack Roslovic pulled off something special – a slick between-the-legs pass as he crossed into Chicago’s zone. Rantanen made it count, putting the Hurricanes up 2-1 over the visiting Blackhawks.
The goal got the home crowd on their feet, proving that the January 24th trade is already paying dividends for Carolina.
For Hurricanes fans wondering if Rantanen could bring his scoring touch from Colorado, this was exactly the kind of first impression they were hoping to see.
