Michael Hage isn’t done with college hockey just yet.
The Montreal Canadiens prospect announced he’s staying at the University of Michigan for the 2025-26 season, putting an end to months of speculation about his future.
“I want to win the championship,” Hage told reporter Marco D’Amico in a recent interview.
It’s a big decision for the talented forward, who’s been turning heads with his play for the Wolverines. Michigan has one of college hockey’s most storied programs, and they’re looking like serious contenders next season.
The news won’t surprise many hockey insiders – rumors about Hage’s return had been circulating for weeks. But now it’s official, giving Michigan fans something to celebrate and Canadiens supporters a clearer picture of their prospect’s development timeline.
For Hage, the choice to stay in college means another year to develop his game before potentially making the jump to pro hockey with Montreal.
