Max Domi is on the injured reserve list, announced by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The team placed him there starting from November 16, which means he might be back as soon as Sunday since players must stay on this list for at least a week. To fill his spot, they called up Nikita Grebenkin from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. This season hasn’t been great for Domi; he’s played in all 19 games but hasn’t scored any goals and has only six assists. For the past 13 games, he hasn’t scored at all. Last year was better with 47 points over 80 games and leading with 118 penalty minutes.
Domi’s career has seen him play in many teams like Arizona, Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, and of course the Maple Leafs. In total over his career of 680 games, he’s got 130 goals and 293 assists making it a total of 423 points. He was picked by Arizona in the first round of the NHL Draft back in 2013.
Maple Leafs Make Moves:
Nikita Grebenkin is stepping up now! He’s new to pro hockey in North America but doing well with ten points from four goals and six assists in just thirteen matches with Marlies. Fans might wonder if this change will bring more energy to the team. Before coming here, he played two seasons in Russia’s KHL where he helped Magnitogorsk win big last spring.
The Maple Leafs are gearing up to face off against Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday while riding high on a two-game winning streak! They’ve got an impressive record so far this season: eleven wins, six losses plus two overtime losses giving them twenty-four points overall—just one point shy of catching Florida Panthers who are reigning champs of Stanley Cup!
What do you think about these changes? Do you believe they’ll help or hurt their chances?
