The Kings have signed their top draft pick, Liam Greentree, to a three-year contract.
Greentree’s deal includes an annual salary of $877.5K and a signing bonus of $97.5K each season, making his cap hit $975K. Los Angeles picked him 26th after trading down five spots earlier that day. He had an impressive second year with OHL Windsor, doubling his rookie season stats.
In total, Greentree scored 36 goals and made 54 assists in 64 games. He also added four more points at the World Under-18s . This performance placed him in the middle to late first-round draft rankings.
Contract Details:
Although Greentree will likely attend training camp in the fall, he is expected to return to the Spitfires next season. If he doesn’t play 10 or more NHL games before then, his contract will slide a year and still have three years left next summer.
Fans might feel excited about this young talent joining the team.
It’s interesting how these contracts work sometimes; they can be quite complex! Will Greentree make a big impact soon? What do you think?
