Kings defenseman needs surgery, out month-to-month

The main thing professional sports teams want during training camp and preseason is for their star players to stay healthy.

Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Kings couldn’t avoid bad luck on Wednesday night.

Drew Doughty got hurt in a preseason game against the Vegas Golden Knights when Tanner Pearson collided with him, jamming his leg against the boards.

Injury Details:

At first, reports said Doughty had a fractured ankle but didn’t give a return date. On Friday, the Kings shared that he will be out for months.

Fans might feel worried about how this will affect the team’s performance.

It’s always tough when key players get injured before the season even starts. Sometimes it feels like everything is going wrong at once. But who knows? Maybe someone else will step up and surprise everyone!
