The drama between two of Vancouver’s biggest hockey stars just hit another level.
J.T. Miller finally snapped back at reporters Sunday, clearly fed up with rumors about his supposedly rocky relationship with teammate Elias Pettersson.
"You guys in a sense have created this thing," Miller said after practice. "Am I bothered? No, you guys are just wasting your time."
When pressed about the constant chatter, Miller didn’t back down. He even threw out a challenge to the media: "I honestly don’t care. You guys can talk about it all you want. I can bring out Petey, and we can do the interview together if that will make you guys happy."
The tension’s been building for a while now.
Just the night before, Elias Pettersson stormed out of his media session, clearly annoyed by the same questions that have been following the team for weeks.
It’s turned into Vancouver’s hottest sports soap opera, with fans eating up every new development.
But here’s the thing – while Miller’s got a point about the media stirring the pot, the players haven’t exactly helped themselves. Both stars have been pretty tight-lipped about their relationship, which only makes people wonder more.
The solution might be pretty simple. If Miller and Pettersson just showed up together, cracked a few jokes, and acted like the teammates they say they are, this whole thing might blow over.
Until then? The rumor mill keeps turning, and it’s starting to overshadow what should be an exciting season for the Canucks.
Fans are left wondering if their two star players will finally put this drama to bed, or if it’ll keep hanging over the team like a dark cloud.
