Carolina’s Frederik Andersen outperformed the New York Islanders’ goalies, contributing to a 3-0 series lead for the Hurricanes, highlighted by a crucial win featuring Andersen’s remarkable saves.
Everyone thought goaltending would be the Islanders’ trump card against the Hurricanes. Turns out, not so much.
Frederik Andersen, Carolina’s goalie, has been stealing the show. He’s outshined both of the Islanders’ goalies, Semyon Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin. Thanks to him, the Hurricanes now boast a solid 3-0 lead in the series.
This past Thursday, Andersen was at it again. The Hurricanes clinched a 3-2 victory right on Long Island. And boy, did Andersen shine.
He pulled off some saves that’ll be replayed for days. The cream of the crop? A save that came when the game was hanging by a thread. Less than five minutes left on the clock, Andersen, already down on the ice, makes this unbelievable glove save.
Seriously, you’ve gotta see it to believe it.
