The Carolina Hurricanes have brought back Seth Jarvis from the injured list. He had been out for seven games due to an upper-body injury.
On November 19th, Jarvis was seen practicing in a no-contact jersey. Alongside his return, the team called up goalie Yaniv Perets and sent defender Ty Smith down. This is good news for Carolina as they gear up for three home games, especially after being outscored by New Jersey and Columbus recently.
Jarvis has already scored 11 points in 13 games this season. Last year, he managed to score 33 goals and 67 points even while dealing with injuries. The team relies on him heavily, and now he can aim to keep scoring at least one point per game again. His comeback might mean William Carrier or Tyson Jost could be sitting out, though Eric Robinson seems safe with his recent performance of four points in four games.
Goaltending Decisions:
Carolina’s goalie situation is tricky right now because Pyotr Kochetkov got hurt badly, but there’s no word yet on how he’s doing. Perets’ call-up hints that Kochetkov might be out for some time. Now they need to choose between Spencer Martin or Perets as the main goalie.
Fans might wonder if this will affect their winning streak.
Martin has played five NHL games this year with a record of 1-2-1 and a .870 save percentage. Meanwhile, Perets has only played three AHL games with a .825 save percentage but hasn’t started any NHL game yet.
With both goalies called up to the NHL team, Chicago Wolves are left relying on Dustin Tokarski and Ruslan Khazheyev as their goalies.
The Hurricanes are moving ahead with stronger offense but shaky goaltending options lately; they’ve won six of their last ten matches by scoring more than their opponents—39 goals against 28!
