The Vegas Golden Knights activated defenseman Ben Hutton from injured reserve, placed forward Pavel Dorofeyev on IR due to an upper-body injury, and recalled forward Sheldon Rempal and goaltender Jiri Patera for additional depth amid illness and injuries.
Ben Hutton is back in action for the Vegas Golden Knights. They’ve pulled him off injured reserve just before their Monday night game against the Minnesota Wild. Interestingly, he didn’t play that night. He was just there, ready and waiting, after shaking off an upper-body injury. This injury had him tagged as “week-to-week.”
Meanwhile, Pavel Dorofeyev finds himself on the injured list. He’s dealing with an upper-body issue too, missing the last four games. The details on when he’ll be back? Still up in the air.
To fill the gaps, Vegas called up Sheldon Rempal and goalie Jiri Patera. Both moves were sparked by illness in the team. Rempal stepped in for Paul Cotter, and Patera took Logan Thompson’s spot between the pipes.
Vegas is playing a bit of musical chairs with their roster. Hutton’s back after playing 31 games, contributing a goal and nine points. That’s a slight bump from last season. Dorofeyev, in his first official NHL season, has made a decent splash too. He’s racked up 14 points in 29 games, showing promise in the team’s bottom six.
To shore up the team, Vegas has brought up Rempal and Patera, both with a handful of NHL games this season. Rempal’s already netted two goals. Over in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights, he’s a standout, scoring 21 goals and racking up 33 points in 43 games.
Patera’s looking to make his mark as well. His record this season is 1-3, with a .901 save percentage. It’s his rookie year, but he’s no stranger to the game, having played a couple of NHL games last year. Down in Henderson, he’s the go-to goalie, with seven wins and a .903 save percentage in 17 games.
So, there you have it. Vegas is juggling their lineup, hoping to keep their momentum despite the injuries. With new and returning faces, they’re gearing up for the challenges ahead.
