The Philadelphia Flyers are off to a rough start this season, sitting at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division with just three points.
Coach John Tortorella is no stranger to slow starts, and after their recent 4-1 loss to Washington, he shared his thoughts on their struggles. “We’ve got a group of men here that are going to figure this out,” he said. “We just have to do it together and not lose ourselves through panic or frustration and forget about we play.”
Goalkeeping has been a major issue for the team. Samuel Ersson’s performance isn’t the problem; it’s Ivan Fedotov who needs improvement. With a record of 0-2, a goals-against average of 6.09, and a save percentage of .818, Fedotov is struggling. Against Seattle Kraken, he let two goals slip between his legs without much interference from screens in front , leading to him being pulled after two periods.
Challenges Ahead:
Fans might be wondering if the team will turn things around soon. The Flyers signed Fedotov on a two-year deal worth $6.5 million in April with high hopes for his performance.
It’s not all gloom; sometimes unexpected twists can change everything! But right now, they need some serious improvements in goalkeeping if they want any chance at success this season.
What do you think? Can they bounce back or is it too late?
