Devils Captain Extends Hot Streak with Another Goal

Nico Hischier is starting the 2024-25 season on fire.

On Friday, he scored first for the New Jersey Devils in their game against the New York Islanders, tying it up 1-1 in the first period at 11:36. This goal added to his impressive streak of five goals in just four games. Now, Hischier has eight goals this season, sharing the top spot with Nikita Kucherov from Tampa Bay Lightning.

Hischier’s scoring ability isn’t new; he’s had four seasons with at least 20 goals and even hit 31 in 2022-23. But this year, he’s scoring faster than ever before. In past seasons, he took a lot more games to reach eight goals—39, 33, and so on—but now he’s done it super quickly! Fans might wonder if he can keep up this amazing pace all season long.

Scoring Pace and Expectations:

Right now, if he keeps going like this, Hischier could end up with a whopping 63 goals by the end of the season! While that might be a bit too hopeful, it’s clear he’s focused on scoring more often as captain of the Devils.

What do you think? Can Nico keep surprising us with his skills?
