Columbus won’t keep any of Laine’s salary in the trade.
Laine asked for a trade in June after having a tough time since moving from Winnipeg to Columbus in 2021. He scored less than 30 points over four seasons with the Blue Jackets. Things were different when he started his career as a first-round pick by Winnipeg in 2016, where he broke several records and was one of the top scorers.
Injuries have been a big problem for Laine, causing him to miss games more than two dozen times while playing for Winnipeg and Columbus. Now, he’ll get a fresh start with Montreal, a young team that needs experienced players. Maybe this change will help him get back on track and shine again .
New Chapter with Montreal:
Fans might think this move is just what Laine needs to bounce back. It’s exciting to see how he will fit into Montreal’s lineup and if he can regain his old form.
It’s always interesting how sports careers can take unexpected turns. Will this new opportunity be the spark that reignites Laine’s career? What do you think?
