Blue Jackets & Panthers Tribute to Johnny Gaudreau

The Columbus Blue Jackets played their first home game since Johnny Gaudreau’s tragic passing. Both the Blue Jackets and Florida Panthers honored him in various ways before the match, ending with the puck drop.

When the game began, the Blue Jackets skated out with only four players, leaving Gaudreau’s left-wing position empty. As soon as play started, Sean Monahan passed the puck to Sam Bennett, who gently slid it to where Gaudreau would have been.

The teams stood still for 13 seconds to honor his jersey number, 13. Afterward, the clock paused briefly before resuming normal play.

Tribute and Memories:

Fans might think this was a touching way to remember him. It showed how much he meant to everyone on and off the ice.

In moments like these, sports can feel like poetry or even magic—capturing emotions beyond words. Sometimes life throws unexpected curveballs that make us stop and reflect on what truly matters.

What do you think about such tributes?
