Blackhawks Blues Winter Classic Rescheduling Possible

The NHL’s 2025 Winter Classic might need a rain check – literally.

Weather forecasts are raising concerns about the highly anticipated outdoor matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues at Wrigley Field.

According to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, a mix of snow and rain could force officials to reschedule one of hockey’s most iconic events.

It’s not the first time these longtime rivals have taken their game outdoors. The Blues got the better of the Blackhawks in their last open-air meeting, winning 4-1 in a heated battle at Busch Stadium back in 2017.

The Blackhawks are practically veterans when it comes to playing under the sky. They’ve already faced off against some of hockey’s biggest names outdoors – the Bruins, Red Wings, Penguins, Capitals, Wild, and Blues.

These two teams have been going at it since 1967, and their rivalry is one of hockey’s most intense. Moving their latest chapter to Wrigley Field seemed like the perfect setting.

But Mother Nature might have other plans.

The NHL hasn’t announced any changes yet, but they’re keeping a close eye on those weather reports. After all, playing hockey in the rain isn’t exactly what anyone had in mind for this Winter Classic.
